In Palermo, the island’s largest city, average air temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C in the summer, and 11°C to 15°C in the winter. December and January are the wettest months with about 95mm of precipitation, while June through August are the driest months. The sea is a pleasant, refreshing temperature during the summer months. Average water temperatures range from 20°C to 25°C from June through the end of August. Outside of summer, the sea cools dramatically causing beaches in the area to be far less busy.
