Naples (sometimes referred to by its Italian name, Napoli) is a popular vacation destination characterized by hot, humid summers and cool, damp winters. The nearby Neapolitan River is a pleasant spot to cool off from the heat Between June and August.

During the summers, Naples sees average air temperatures that range from 18°C to 28°C. On particularly hot days, the air can sometimes breach the 30°C threshold. June through August are the driest months of the year, seeing about 30mm of precipitation per month. That amount increases dramatically into September, and peaks in November at over 150mm of rainfall.

Throughout the winter, air temperatures generally float between 8°C to 14°C. Precipitation is still high, although considerably less than in autumn.

Water temperatures in the Neapolitan River sit between 23°C and 26°C during the summer months, making the shoreline a popular getaway for locals. Temperatures drop off to below 20°C for most of the rest of the year.
