Golf-ball-sized hail recently slammed into a boat on Lake Powell in Utah and footage of the incident has gone viral online, racking up thousands of views across several social media sites.

The family aboard watched in shock as hail caused the surrounding water to churn.

Hail created thunderous claps, growing louder as the storm intensified.

It was strong enough to tear pieces off the boat's roof, which could be seen floating in the water nearby.

The footage, filmed by Laura Powell last Friday, shows the extent of the damage.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, despite the storm's severity.
