157 dead, including 18 Canadians, after Ethiopia plane crash
Reports confirm that there are no survivors
Eighteen Canadians are among the victims of an Ethiopian Airlines plane crash, which occurred six minutes after take-off from Ethiopia's capital city, Addis Ababa, and killed all individuals on board.
The airline reports that 149 passengers and eight crew members were on flight WT302, which was flying to Nairobi, Kenya.
The cause of the crash is not yet clear.
Reports from AccuWeather state that the sparse weather observations in the area note that "rain and wind from Idai are impacting areas well to the south where the plane went down," but indications are generally pointing to clear conditions and light winds when the incident occured.
Both Prime Minister Trudeau and Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs have expressed their condolences to the victims.
