MUST SEE: Solar storms could spark bright auroras across Canada this week
Widespread heat will cover most of the country as we head into this August long weekend.
Saturday will be the hottest day of the weekend in British Columbia, as temperatures soar into the mid-30s for the interior, but stay closer to the 20s for coastal sections. Despite being warm, it's certainly more comfortable than the recent high heat the previous weeks have brought.
Across the southern Prairies, temperatures will reach the mid-30s, as well, while northern sections see daytime highs closer to the mid 20s.
Some thunderstorms are possible on Sunday for the foothills, tracking east across the region by the holiday Monday.
Waves of moisture, with storm chances across Eastern Canada
Just like much of the summer has gone so far, rain and thunderstorm chances will be widespread across Ontario to kick off the holiday weekend on Friday. The risk for storms lingers into Saturday, as well.
