SUV camping is made easy in a Mitsubishi Outlander

Fall is the ideal season for a road trip along Canada's East Coast. The vibrant fall colours make for a stunning backdrop as you drive endlessly, taking it all in.

But what if your journey didn't have to stop just because there are no hotels on the less-travelled roads?

After doing some online research, I discovered a new trend: SUV camping.

I decided to order an SUV tent online to try it out, allowing me to pull off wherever I needed and spend the night.

I chose to test the tent at a site in Dollar Lake Provincial Park.

The Mitsubishi Outlander provided plenty of space for a comfortable sleep off the chilly ground, with the seats folded down into a smooth sleeping surface.

Thanks to the straightforward setup and the comfort of being shielded from the elements, it was easy to unwind with my family and focus on the important things, like roasting marshmallows.

The next morning, we woke up and enjoyed more scenery by the tranquil lake, with the water as calm as glass and the stunning colours reflecting off the surface.

For the price of one night's stay in a downtown hotel, I can now have countless adventures SUV camping.
