Year in review: Buzzworthy bugs
As the year comes to a close, we look back at some of the bugs that flew into our lives.
Another year, another round of creepy crawlies.
These are some of the squirmy, wormy, and crawly critters that rolled through our video gallery this year at the Weather Network - like fuzzy caterpillars, LDD moths, and other tiny creatures.
Take, for example, the joro spider that threatened to make its way north across the border and cover us all in thick, gooey webs:
While that never really happened, our old friend the dock spider was happy to fill that void in New Brunswick.
Ticks spread even more in Canada this year, but we also got word that a Lyme disease vaccine could be on its way!
It was better news on the LDD moth front this year, with a significant decline in numbers around southern Ontario.
And, last but not least, a 2022 study found bumblebees like to play, and they have never looked so cute!
